Getting Back into the Swing...

It's literally been FOREVER since I last posted. But it finally seems like we are getting back into the swing of things, finding our rhythm again so to speak.

I'm really encouraged by the lastest review of Fae Dreams. It helped relieve my writers block and brought back my creative spark. Much needed indeed! Thanks Bonita!

The Vault has been more than a little slow going, but it is indeed going. But now that my medical issues have been taken care of and Lodemai's good news at home, we are more focused than we have been in a while. I finally see all of the pieces falling into place and the Vault is getting more and more exciting to write.

Faith & Time

You know if you have a strong faith and do what is right you will be blessed. You ask how I know this is true well let me tell you.

My little girl has been without her daddy for 3 years, I have been told over and over to have faith and in time he would get past the dark times in his life and come back to take his place with his little girl.

That day did come; he came to me and let me know how sorry he was for all he said and done to hurt me. He wants more than anything to be a part our little girls life. He calls every day to see how she is doing and just to say how much he loves and misses her.

Its all for Birdie!

Time to catch up...

Okay everyone, I know you all are wondering where the hell have Kiku and myself been. Well let me tell you things have been crazy busy. Here is just a list to get you caught up quickly.
I'm not even sure where to start...
  1. Fae Dreams - my Aunt Bonita has been reading and giving it a once over. The review was not bad and Kiku and myself are very happy with the results.
  2. So now that it is back we are re-reading the book again for the first time since we completed it. The plan is to start marketing the book again to agent by the end of the month.
  3. The Vault is coming along nicely not as fast as we wanted but we have not given up on it.
  4. Kiku had so medical issues but it looks like she has come thought it with no complications.
  5. My little one has changed daycares which is really more traumatic for me than her.
  6. Both Kiku and my older kids all into full teenager mode but let me tell you they are great kids. They really don't loss their heads to often.
  7. Work is crazy but enough on that.
Well that is the largest part for the moment.

A hard day

Everyone has day's they wished they didn't have to face. Whether it be a traffic ticket, a divorce, a test, or even the first day at school. Today is one of those day's for me. At 1 o'clock central time my best friend and a part of my heart had one of those decisions to face. I don't agree with how he is handling this moment in time but I trust him. He is gaining his strength and this is his fight so I want him to know today that I'm with him. I know in the end this is the path he must take.

052007 - 3 More

Well first thing first, I have to send a Happy Birthday to my co-author Kiku. The Taurus is in full affect (trust me on that).
Second is I would like to send out congratulations to the parents to be, Wood and his lovely lady Meagan. Way to go you guys.

Okay back to business we send out another 3 letters to agents, the search is becoming a little draining but an experience I won't trade. You will never know how good you are until you put yourself out there, naked for the world to see your work and criticize you baby - your creation.

The second book 'The Vault' is almost complete with the 3rd book to start this fall. A lot is happening so back to the book, I wanted to stop by and let you all know Kiku & I are still doing our thing.

Getting Settled

Hey everyone,
I know I haven't posted in a while but work has kept me busy! I started off March with ten days in Texas, on my return I took off for a week to spend time with the kids and work on the house. Okay now that I have bored you to death back to more important things.

After a recap with Kiku we realized we were further along than we thought (Hooray!) we only have about 1/4 left to write on The Vault before we can start on the third book. The weather has changed in the Midwest as the days are beautiful right now. Our mornings are mid 50's to 60's and the days are mid 70's to low 80's which lends to beautiful days to write outside.

Today is also opening day for baseball in St. Louis which any from St. Louis knows that is almost a national holiday for us!

Looking forward to an exciting month and don't worry Kiku & I will keep you in the loop.
Back to writing.

3 & 13 In Two Days

In our quest for Fae Dreams to become a reality we sent out inquires to 3 agents yesterday and 13 today. You know as we we working on Fae Dreams everyone says writing the book is the hardest part. I'm here to tell you the hardest part is getting an agent or publishing house to give you writing a moments notice.

Every rejection letter has been positive and even encouraging to continue to shop for agents. There are days however that Kiku and I wish we would get more constructive criticisms so we could learn where we need to strengthen our writing.

Well I must return to my writing The Vault is well underway.

Time to Catch Up!!!!

Okay last time we talked Kiku, Cookie Fairy, and myself were getting ready for our trip to New Orleans. We had sent out 8 new letters to agents, and we were waiting to see if we won the Vampire writing contest. Let let me get you all caught up.
  1. The trip to NOLA what a blast we visited the graveyards, danced at voodoo, talked to a vampire (Jonathan you rock!), and of course had a drink on Bourbon Street. However, the thing we all loved the most was the people of NOLA they have been through so much & have such a great love of their city. Anyone that reads this New Orleans was not wiped off the map and the proud people of NOLA were so happy to see visitors come back to their city.
  2. Okay no bites off the 8 letters but no negatives either, last Saturday the 20th we sent out another 10 letter to new agents. Don't worry we know Fae Dreams will be published we just need to find the right fit for the book.
  3. We didn't win the writing contest but guess what we are already working on our entry for this year!
Well its convention time again for me so I will be on my way to Dallas, TX. for ten days its going to be a long time away but I have a plan to get a lot accomplished while away.

Well as soon as we start hearing back from the agents we will let you know.
