NYE

This artwork is called 'Witching' from Nene Thomas what better for the witching hour.

So we are making plans for the evening staying in with kids and having friends over. After the holidays we decided to make NYE a stay at home function. We are going to watch horror movies and veg out. The drinks are in the fridge nice and cold. I have a massive headache at the moment. So to enjoy tonight I need to get some headache medicine.

I have started to work on my main bad guy for my next book 'The Vault'. He is a complicated soul which is going to be a lot of fun to write. Its always easier to write the bad guys because you can allow the darkness inside you to playout on paper.

Happy New Years to All...
For on Tuesday we return to work.

Chillin’ on Saturday Morning

Love, love, love the Nene Thomas artwork!! I am also digging the link to Avalon Mystics. The dragon merchandize is too cool! I really like the oil burners and hourglass. Anyway, I’ve been up for a few hours. I went and sat under the deck for a bit. Yes, it was damn cold! A balmy 34 degrees! But I like being out in the early morning air regardless of the weather. I had a comforter with me, so it wasn’t that bad. I just like to use that time to clear my head. Although I do find it a little funny that I have no problem getting up at 4 am on Saturday or Sunday, but I just can’t seem to peel myself out of the bed Monday thru Friday! LOL!! It’s different when I’m trying to have me time. It’s such a rare thing!

I have decided not to make a New Year’s resolution this year, but have adopted a mantra instead. LET IT GO!! This goes along with my resolution for the past 3 years which was to KEEP IT REAL!! I figure it’s a natural and obvious progression. I refuse to allow myself to waste any of my energy on B.S.!! I’m just not gonna do it. I feel my world is getting ready to go through some big changes and I need to be able to focus all of my energy on my loved ones and my life. Letting B.S. consume my energy is draining and frankly it’s a waste of my valuable time.

I am very anxious to get started on the next book. I think I am going to take off Friday just to get started. I would have the house to myself for a day, which is yet another rare thing and I would be able to get a good start on the book. I have to start writing this A.S.A.P! I think it will take my mind on waiting to hear news on the status of the book.

Going back to bed now. Here’s to LETTING IT GO in the New Year!!

Gray Day

Today it was in the 30's in St. Louis. I woke up to thunderstorms and the day stayed dark and gray with a cool wind and this light misty rain. Yesterday it was in the upper 50's with SUN! What happened????? So in honor of today's weather and my mood I have chosen this Dark Fae called Blue Angel from the artist Amy Brown.

Oh well, another day of working on convention I got a lot done though. It was too quiet again (It's maddening!!!) Kiku was swamped with processing checks with the holidays mail had backed up so no rest for the wicked.

After picking up T-Bird aka Tessa I went to get the kids dinner. I have been spending the evening laughing at T-Bird jumping around and singing to a Dora movie she is so silly, Dora is getting on my nerves at this moment. Kiku did I say thank you for the Dora videos? Payback is coming for that Christmas gift. Alexzander (my 12yr old) is working on beating a new video game. He volunteered to watch his baby sister but I wanted to give him time to play because when school starts the video games are gone until spring break. I know you think that's mean or unfair but trust me its for his best interest. When games are around he can't seem to focus on the school work so he loses the play station 2. The has been going on since first grade.

I have made some changes to the colors and front of the blog. Not too bad for not knowing anything about code. The blog site help area was great for learning how to make simple changes. I have also spent some time researching Vampires and Fae plus I had to check out my favorites artist site Amy Brown. If you get a moment check out some of Kiku's and mine favorite web sites. We will be adding some more links soon.

Time to fad away...

Back to Work

Today its back to work, the building was almost empty which meant I was able to get a lot of work done. Working on Convention today trying to get my vendors to get there information in. Its almost too quiet at work though, strange I have always been able to work better when there is noise around me.

Right now I'm in a half evil mood which could easily go all the way over to the dark side. I don't know what is causing this emotion to rise at the moment but the dark side is there. I'm sure its about some unresolved emotions I have with particular person so right now I choose to be pissed about things. I will be better soon I'm almost to the point on all my f'd up issues with this person to say I'm done. This is why I have chosen this fairy picture from Amy Brown, its titled 'Go Away' and that how I'm feeling toward this one person right now. Soon it will be over an I will be DONE or as Kiku would say just going to LET IT GO!

Then there is this side of wanting to get to work on the second book but I haven't wrote anything in about a week. Good thing I have been dreaming lately its giving me a lot of material for the book. Kiku has been very busy with the holidays and work as well. We both have a lot on our plate but have agree to get back to the book full force after the first of the year.

On top of writing the next book 'The Vault' we will be trying to get the first book published, but if you want something just believe and it will be...

Catch you later on the flip side. Lodemai

Sick

Okay I'm sick and Christmas is right around the corner, I still have last minute shopping to do. Well regardless I have too much going on the let illness stop me. I have food to make for work tomorrow which is not too big of deal so once that is completed I think I'm going to hit the bed.

I was looking over the book CG got me 'Vampires, Werewolves, and other Monters' by Rosemary Ellen Guiley. This is a very interesting book if your into Vampires (which I am) it covers folklore, author, and Hollywood view of Vampires.

Hey if you love Vampires check out this site http://www.feelthebite.com/home.html it's a store located in the French Quarters believe me its worth a visit you never know what you may find.

I got to get some rest I'll leave the next comments up to Kiku.

Manic Monday

Artist Nene Thomas works are more toward the romantic side of fantasy but to those who play the card game magic probably already recognize her work. I wanted a picture to represent how cold it is St. Louis today I think it was around 19 degrees this morning.

Today was hectic at work; I was working on so many projects I'm not sure if I completed anything. I have a lot of new vendors and they need help with the craziness of convention time. There is a lot of details and there is very little time to everything together.

I am very excited my little sister CG got me a book to help me with research on book two 'The Vault'. We like to add our own imagination, folk lore and facts to create our stories and characters. Kiku and I have decided how we want to start book two. I agree with Kiku we want to be able to tie book one & two together. 'Fae Dreams' changed Aurora and Talia forever so we need to set up book two to reflect this. We have to stay true to our girls and their lives.

Well It's time to get the kids ready for bed T-Bird is already starting to tell me its bed time. Since Zander is on Christmas break he doesn't have to go to bed early but he has to finish his Science project or he will lose his PS2 and for a pre-teen that is true punishment.

Catch you on the flip side... :-)

Feeling better

I am finally feeling better. I am almost back to my "normal" self. What a scary thought!

I was so excited to hear from our editor about her progress on the book. We were on pins and needles not hearing from her. The longer it went on, the more nervous we became. It was maddening I tell you!!

As most of you know, writing has always been my passion. It would be amazing to actually be successful doing something that I truly love! Better yet, to share the experience with Lodemai - it's been an adventure. And we are just getting started!

Gotta go and wrap some gifts and get ready for the work week.

Later,
Kiku

Closing Ceremony

This artist was brought to my attention from a post from Emmy. I love her work check out Susan Seddon Boulet.

Well, the weekend is almost over yesterday was long but soooo much fun and well needed! :-) It was good to spend time with family and close friends. Today is cleaning and getting ready for the work week.

I talked to Kiku today she is finally starting to feel better which is good news. There is nothing worse than being sick during the holidays.

Right now I'm sitting down taking a break with my little T-Bird taking her afternoon nap. The best thing about the weekend is watching your kid take their nap or sitting downstairs with my son and have him teach me how to play the latest game.

To all those who have to work on Monday enjoy your last few hours of freedom for on Monday we belong to the work machine again.

Saturday Madness

Another picture from Amy Brown.

Okay today is rush rush rush. I love the weekends I like spending time with the kids. I have time blocked out to sit down and play video games with my pre-teen Zander right now I'm having movie time with my 2 yr old Tessa had to watch her favorite movie Willy Wonka. Once it is over I have to go to the bank then to shopping, party at three, then dinner at six.

Talk to Kiku last night she was still feeling crappy for her the weekend is shot. She is staying low in hopes she feels better for Christmas next weekend. Her pre-teen is avoiding her like the plague in the fear she will get sick during winter break. I can't say I wouldn't do the same. My son has been counting down the days to break. I did the same when I was his age.
:-)

I've been running over the story line of our second book in my head. This book will be a lot of fun to write. 'Fae Dreams' was fun but when we came up with the idea for book two it was hard to stay focused on 'Fae Dreams'. So now that it is done 'The Vault' is what I daydream about. Our girls Aurora Oliver and Talia LeBon are back and things in the Big Easy are changed forever.

It's FRIDAY!!!!!

TGIF,

Well we made it through another week. Things are crazy as ever. Kiku has been sick most of the week which means she has not thought about our second book, but I can't blame her. She needs her sleep I hope we can get back on track soon.

If you haven't noticed we love fairies. This one is from the artist Amy Brown she is my favorite artist of fairies. Visit her web site at http://www.amybrownart.com/default.asp. So if I know the artist or the website I will post it.

Hey, I was just fowarded an email from Kiku its from our editor. The work on the book will not be done until after the holidays (can't be mad its the Christmas season) but she says from what she has read we definitely have a "publishable" book!!!!!

WOW!!! This had made my weekend! Got to get back to work on book two!

TGIF everyone,

Lodemai

Waiting Game

Okay this Friday marks two weeks that our editor has had our first book 'Fae Dreams' so as you can guess this is driving us crazy!!!! Things have been stressful at work due to end of year which means the beginning of convention time. So that equals to being away from the family for a week in Febuary and possibly another week in March.

We need to get started on book two 'The Vault' but can't seem to focus. We have most of the book in our heads but getting down on paper... well that's another thing. I guess after the holidays were going to have to really focus and get down to work.

God I hope that editor calls soon!!!!

Fae Dreams

We created this blog so our friends and family could keep up with the progress of our first book.

Our first book 'Fae Dreams' is done and in the hands of our editor. During the editing process it makes you crazy wondering what a complete stranger thinks of your work. Its a double edge sword you need this honest opionion but you fear them not liking your work. Its crazy!!!!

So during the holidays we are trying to focus on the kids and holiday parties but alway in the back of our head is I hope they like the book.

Oh well got to start the next book :-)

Madness I tell you!!!
Lodemai ;-)
